About the authors, Phillip Akrigg, a retired UBC professor, and his wife Helen, have spent much of each year at their Shuswap Lake cottage. They have co-authored various books, including British Columbia Place Names, the standard work on that subject. In 1995 they were given the BC Heritage Award for their contributions to BC History.
